Back Home, Ready to Go

I just spent the past nine days in Orlando for new staff training at Great Commission Ministries. To be honest, I went in to it with a pretty bad attitude. I was prideful--seeing a schedule that included "role playing" made me feel a bit uneasy. I can honestly say that the Lord changed my expectations and my heart about cultivating a ministry team to partner with us in Japan.

There were about 20 people total in the training and I had an opportunity to share about why Japan needs the gospel multiple times throughout the week. Each time I was able to share I felt more and more invigorated by the need--more and more stirred to go to a place and work towards the Lord's glory. And what's more, I genuinely feel as though each of these people became friends. Each called to ministry in different parts of the country with a burden to see cities and college campuses know Christ.  I am honored to have gotten to know each of them.

God was gracious to take my eyes off of myself and say to me, "Look! It's more than just you! Look what I'm doing in Clio, Michigan! Look what I'm doing in Atlanta, Georgia! Look what what I'm doing in Knoxville, Tennessee! Yes the need in Japan is great but your need for ME is greater!"

I'm home and ready to share our story. To God be the glory.
